 Relevance:
ISO 6 Cleanroom Embryo Lab, ISO 7 Cleanroom Procedure Room and ISO
8 Cleanroom Andrology Lab; Design-Build delivery method; Extensive
Preconstruction Coordination; technical HVAC systems; Constructed
in occupied building with zero unscheduled shut-downs and zero complaints
from adjacent medical practices; satisfied client and landlord.
 Project
Description: 4,300 sf Design/build medical fertility and
patient care clinic in Scottsdale, AZ. Scope included ISO 6, 7 and
8 Cleanrooms with ASHRAE, VOC and HEPA filtration systems. LEED
design and building techniques implemented & stringent Low VOC
products incorporated into the space. Very aggressive seven week
schedule implemented successfully. 20KW backup generator installed
for critical electrical loads. Cleanroom Certification.
 Role
on Project: Bloom Builders was the design/build team leader.
Bloom Builders provided comprehensive design phase preconstruction
services including program development, site selection, constructability
and system assessments, detailed const estimating, budget development
and value engineering, project planning and scheduling, permit coordination,
project buyout and long lead equipment procurement. We also led
the construction effort by selecting and controlling project subcontractors
and vendors; self performing construction of walls, ceilings, and
painting; and daily Quality and Safety Control.
 Successes:
Successfully partnered with clients and the design/build team; assisted
with successful site selection; established green and low VOC building
standards including documentation and control; developed and installed
low VOC air filtration systems including ASHRAE, Charcoal, Potassium
Permanganate, and HEPA filtration; completed project with a very
aggressive construction schedule; implemented project with zero
unscheduled shut downs and minimal impact to adjacent medical practices;
doctor/patient success rates exceeded goal; client has called us
back for additional work; project team members have recommended
us to other medical practices.
